Governor
of Baja California visits Mexican Team
TIJUANA, Mexico, July 3, 2010 – The Governor of
Baja California José Guadalupe Osuna Millán paid a visit to the
High Development Center where he offered his support to the
National Women’s Junior Team which is training hard in
preparation for the NORCECA U-20 Continental Championship.
The event starts next Monday and the Mexican Team
will be battling for one of the tickets available to next year’s
FIVB World Championship.
The executive chief of the state arrived in the
High Development Center where he was received by the General
Director of the Sport and Physical Education Institute of Baja
California, Saul Castro Verdugo, who introduced him with the
players from the different states of the country.
Some of them already have been concentrated in
previous occasions while training for international competitions
and training camps for tournaments in foreign countries like the
Youth World Tournament in Turkey 2009, the Junior World
Championship held the same year in Mexicali and the Qualifying
Tournament toward the Youth Olympic Games and the Turkey World
Championship held recently in Guatemala.
“My congratulations and I wish you the best of
luck, hoping you can get one of the tickets to the world
championship in this competition we are going to have in
Tijuana”, said the Governor, who also was available for a photo
session with the Mexican team.
The players took part in the session held in the
central plaza of CAR and later they went back to training and
some scrimmage matches against some of the teams already here to
participate in the competition scheduled to start next Monday. |
